3 Quick and Easy Brown Rice Recipes

Brown rice has been a staple of Asian cuisine for centuries, but did you know that it can be used in many different ways in a variety of cuisines? Brown rice is often touted as being the healthier alternative to white rice as during its processing just the outermost layer, the so-called hull, is discarded. In the case of white sugar-laden white rice, other layers like the germ and some of the bran are removed, leaving only the grain. However, rice bran has some health benefits, and whole-grain brown rice may even be better for you than white rice.

If you haven't tried brown rice recipes before, there is a very good reason why you should. These healthy alternative meals are easy to make and usually taste great too. For example, here are two of my favorite meals that have beans as a main ingredient and a side of fresh veggies.

The first brown rice recipes I will discuss are those that are more traditional. One of these is Spicy Chickpea Chili. This delicious and healthy recipe is cooked using chickpeas (pronounced chee-veh) and is usually finished with a spicy sauce. To make this recipe, all you need is a can of beans, a jar of tomato paste, fresh jalapeno peppers, and a cup of water. Bring all this to a boil and add a tablespoon of oil. Then, while stirring, add the garlic and fry the peppers until they are almost burning.

The second of the brown rice recipes I am going to mention is Baked Kettle Squares with Gluten-Free Tofu Asada. This is a delicious meal with a delicious sauce to top it off. It has a very mild kick but is not overly spicy. All you have to do is add the tofu to the pan after chopping up the onions. You can finish the prep time with a delicious sauce and a side dish of your choice.

Another one of my favorite brown rice recipes that are made from scratch is the Garlic and Herbs Stew. This stew is full of flavor and has a nice onion flavor. All you have to do is add about three tablespoons of chopped fresh or dried garlic and mix in onions, bell pepper, and a few chopped fresh herbs. Cook the mixture until it begins to simmer and then add in your chopped herbs and parsley.

These three recipes are some of my favorites. Both of them are made with ingredients you probably already have in your kitchens such as onions, garlic, and bell pepper. When you cook brown rice recipes for the first time, remember to add extra virgin olive oil to the pan to prevent burning. Also, remember to add freshly chopped onions to stir fry and cook.If you want to know more about this topic, then click here: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Fried_rice.
